Opening an iPhone is possible without using any special tools. All you will need are the following:
1. Smallest Phillips screwdriver kit (#000)
2. Swiss knife or any thin metal or knife
3. A protective and non-slippery cloth like velvet, to place the iPhone on.

The iPhone has two casing parts, which has to be removed. The back part is the small black colored casing, which does not need any use of screws because it is fixed. The second part is the majority party of the iPhone. It is the silver side of the phone. This part is secured with small screws.
